Simplot GAL-‍Xeᴼᴺᴱ® is a controlled-release fertilizer with an advanced polymer coating technology that provides continuous nutrient release for up to 18 months to match a plant’s growth cycle. This gradual release of nutrients improves efficiency, limits plant damage and reduces nutrient loss. This proprietary reactive layer coating was created with support from NASA’s Space Alliance Technology Outreach Program.

Simplot GAL-Xeᴼᴺᴱ® allows water to seep into the prill and then carry the nutrients out through a semi-permeable membrane and into the soil.
